MAKING A RAINBOW

A global pandemic… It’s all so sureal! What's going to happen? How long will we be confined? How many people will die? How will I be able to pay my rent? Is my mother safe? Are my brother and sister careful? Oops, I got my hands in my face! Will I be infected? Should I go volunteer? I'm afraid of being infected! How I earn my living is not essential! How am I going to make a living? What will the fashion industry look like after this pandemic? Will there be a return to normal? OK, that's too much! LET'S JUST MAKE A RAINBOW!

WHAT I FOUND AT HOME :

  • Denim scraps
  • Jean jacket
  • Fabric scissors and paper scissors
  • A rainbow drawing as a pattern
  • Embroidery thread
  • Patient;)

Step 1: Found the material you need

Step 2 : Draw and cut your rainbow pattern

Step 3: Trace and cut the rainbow on the fabric

Step 4: Choose your thread

Step 5: Start your embroidery

I first used the backstitch

This is the moment when I wanted to do the whole outline of the rainbow with the satin stitch, but I ran out of patience.

That's when I said to myself: Dam! it looks like an igloo!
I should maybe add some clouds!?

Step 6: Add some clouds

This is the moment when I congratulate myself of my idea of a little cloud!

To stitch the clouds I used the blanket stitch

Step 7: Embroider #ça va bien aller

I used the whipped stem stitch for the writing

#çavabienaller gang! We are creative. It's just that creating sometimes is uncomfortable, but if it's not then you're not creating something important. Let's tame this discomfort and create a new routine and new habits for our selves. Let's welcome a new rhythm and build a new normal. I love you, do not hesitate to share your rainbows with me and above all take care of yourself and your loved ones xo
